The Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (UBO) enjoys an outstanding international reputation for research and teaching. The outstanding research performance of the faculty of mathematics and natural sciences has been recognized by the excellence initiative of the German ministry of education and research and the German Research Foundation with the establishment of the excellence cluster “Hausdorff Center for Mathematics”. In the 2017 Times Ranking, University of Bonn is ranked on Position 79 worldwide for Computer Science. The University closely cooperates with Fraunhofer IAIS and in the Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology (B-IT). Besides funded projects, the Smart Data Analytics (SDA) research group at UBO runs projects for the scientific community, including the popular DBpedia and LinkedGeoData knowledge graphs, the SANSA semantic distributed computing framework, the fact validation framework DeFacto and the AskNow question answering engine.
Role in the project: In Cleopatra UBO leads WP5 “Hybrid computation, user interaction and question answering” and works on a selection of topics related to fact validation and question answering.
