The CLEOPATRA project (a Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Innovative Training Network) ran from 1 January 2019 to June 2023. It offered a unique interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral research and training programme, which explored how we can begin to analyse and understand how the major events that influence and shape our lives and societies play out online.<\/p>\n

\"\"CLEOPATRA concluded with a final public workshop in Hannover. The ESRs presented the results of their research projects, highlighting both their scientific contributions and practical applications. <\/span>The event was open to community participation and consequently offered the ESRs an excellent opportunity to present their work to the public. It also further strengthened collaboration within the network, which will lead to future collaboration and publication. The keynote was delivered by Dr Thorsten Trippel, Liaison Coordinator of CLARIN-D: the German Infrastructure for the Humanities and Social Sciences. A concluding business meeting the day after the workshop was an opportunity for the ESRs to present the chapters they are contributing to the monograph that will synthesise the project results, and to peer review each other’s work.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"CLEOPATRA was presented at the 33rd Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems, CECIIS2022, Dubrovnik, Croatia.\u00a0<\/span>The 33rd CECIIS was held from 21 to 23 September 2022, organized by the Faculty of Organization and Informatics at the University of Zagreb. The CLEOPATRA poster, written by five authors, showcased the latest project developments; and a CLEOPATRA flyer was distributed to conference participants. \"\"The CLEOPATRA ESRs and team attended the Extended Semantic Web Conference (ESWC) in Crete, 29 May-2 June 2022. The conference was followed by a day of training, with a focus on career paths and professional development.<\/p>\n

The 3rd International Workshop on Cross-lingual Event-centric Open Analytics, co-located with The WebConf 2022, was held on 25 April 2022. It was an opportunity for the CLEOPATRA ESRs to showcase the work that they have been doing over the past three years of the project, with each of them having the opportunity to present and discuss their research.<\/p>\n

\"\"The third CLEOPATRA Research and Development week was held on 6-8 December. It was a hybrid event, with some of the Network\u2019s ESRs meeting convening in Zagreb and others joining them online from around Europe. Sessions on the first day considered interactive access to multilingual information and hybrid computation as well as cross-lingual alignment, validation, contextualisation and the Open Exchange Knowledge Graph. The ESRs also received training in how to disseminate their work, including the production of short promotional videos which we will be publishing on this website soon!<\/p>\n

\"\"The R+D week was followed by a two-day hackathon, which involved independent group work and a final presentation of project challenges and achievements. The ESRs have become expert in hybrid research and working, but it was wonderful for some of them to be able to meet in person in Zagreb.<\/p>\n
